The resort

What makes a stay at Lionsback Resort exceptional?

Lionsback Resort melds luxurious hospitality with otherworldly adventure, setting the scene for a truly one-of-a-kind experience amongst Moab’s stunning red rock landscape and 12,000-foot-high alpine peaks. From eco-friendly practices and National Park access to exclusive amenities and personalized outdoor experiences, it’s unlike anywhere else in the desert, not to mention the world.

How far is the resort from Moab and airports?

We’re just a 5-minute drive from downtown Moab, and easily accessible via a variety of airports, with the closest being:

• Canyonlands Field Airport (21 miles)
• Grand Junction Regional Airport (116 miles)
• Salt Lake City International Airport (241 miles)

What is the weather like?

Situated in the Southwest desert, Moab has a semi-arid climate with minimal precipitation that’s perfect for year-round exploring. The spring and fall in Moab are the most favored times of year, with 70 to 80°F temps during the day and cool desert temps at night. The summer months can be warm, with temps reaching 100°F at times.

When is the busy season?

Moab is busiest in the Spring (March-early May) and Fall (September-October).

How far is Lionsback Resort from Arches and Canyonlands National Parks?

Lionsback Resort is the perfect launchpad for adventures in both National Parks, sitting just 7.7 miles from Arches and 33 miles from Canyonlands.

What activities are available?

Moab is a playground for adventurous spirits of all kinds. Our resort provides direct access to the striking landscapes of the 9,000+ acre Sand Flats Recreation Area, which is home to world-famous mountain biking on the Slick Rock trail, four wheel driving thrills on the famed Hells Revenge trail, and plenty of hiking and camping. Whether you’re looking to get lost in the red dirt yourself, capture stunning photos, or take a rugged tour, there’s something for everyone here. What amenities are on-site?

During your stay at Lionsback, you can expect a 4-star hospitality experience designed to exceed your needs. Our concierge team is available to help you to maximize every moment in the desert. Beyond endless opportunities to explore the great outdoors that surround us, we also provide access to a fire pit for s’mores beneath the stars and on-site trails perfect for jogging, biking, or taking your four-legged sidekick for a stroll.

Does Lionsback Resort have quiet hours?

In order to allow all guests to relish in respite before their next day’s adventures, we maintain quiet hours between 10:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

What size are the residences?

All of the Casitas at Lionsback Resort are spacious and comfortable—ranging in size from roughly 1,600 square feet (Strata) to 2,100 square feet (Mesa).

Amenities & accomodations

Are linens provided?

Yes, each bedroom and bathroom is stocked with all the luxurious linens you need for a comfortable stay. Should you need more, additional linens can be found in the closet and/or provided upon request.

Do the units have air conditioning and heat?

Yes, every Casita features a centralized HVAC system that guests can control with an Ecobee SMART thermostat for maximum comfort, day and night.

Does the resort get cell service?

Our resort does get cell service, though it can be a little spotty sometimes through certain carriers. Guests can connect to the WiFi in the Casitas for WiFi calling to ensure strong cell reception.

Will I have Wi-Fi service?

Yes, each Casita has access to a private Wi-Fi internet connection with a username and password that’s supplied at check-in.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, Lionsback Resort is a family-friendly destination that welcomes explorers of all ages to join the adventure.

Can I bring my pet?

Yes, Lionsback is a pet-friendly resort. Our pet-friendly Casitas can accommodate up to 3 pets with a $125 pet fee that allows us to keep your Casita clean and comfortable for the next guest. To book with a pet, inquire about our pet policy when making your reservation.

Do I have access to a patio or deck?

Yes, every Casita offers a patio and/or deck, giving guests the freedom to relax, breathe in the fresh air, and take in the phenomenal views that surround our resort.

Do the Casitas have a full kitchen?

Yes, our Casitas offer a gourmet kitchen equipped with everything you need, whether you’re staying for a few nights or longer. In each high-end Casita kitchen, guests have private access to a Wolf and Subzero refrigerator/freezer, electric induction cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a wine/beverage fridge. In the laundry room, guests will also find a full-size washer and dryer.

Where can I park my car?

Every Casita has private parking available in the attached garage or driveway. Strata Casitas feature an oversized one-car garage, while Mesa Casitas feature an oversized two-car garage, with a door height of approximately 9 feet. If additional parking is needed, there are limited parking areas along the private streets (available in marked areas only).

Where can I park my RV or Trailer?

Guests are welcome to park trailers in the garage if they fit fully and the garage door shuts. If that’s not an option for your vehicle, our staff will be happy to point you to our designated oversized vehicle parking area. This on-site parking area can accommodate up to 5 trailers, and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where can I store my gear?

We understand how precious your gear is—and how tough it can be to lug around. Our designated garage space offers a convenient, safe place to keep your recreational equipment and gear during your stay.

What is the smoking policy?

Lionsback Resort is a non-smoking property.

RESERVATIONS

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in time is anytime after 4:00 PM and checkout is by 11.00 AM.

What do I need for check-in?

Everything you need for check-in can be found in your confirmation email, which will provide you with an access code for keyless entry. Using that code, you’ll be able to get into your Casita as soon as you arrive.

Is late check-out available?

We do our best to accommodate any request for late check-out, though every request is subject to availability. A late check-out fee may apply. If you’re interested in staying just a little longer, contact our concierge team as soon as possible.

What is required to make a reservation?

Making a reservation is simple—all we need is a valid ID or driver’s license, as well as a valid credit card.

What are the resort office hours?

Our office hours at the resort are 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, every day of the week.

Is there a minimum stay?

Our booking policy varies depending on the season. Please check with our concierge team to get the most up-to-date information regarding minimum stay requirements for your desired dates.

What are your payment and cancelation policies?

We understand that life is the ultimate adventure—and therefore, a little unpredictable. Our reservation policy reflects our dedication to staying as flexible as possible for our guests.

 

Payment policy: A 50% deposit of your full reservation total is due upon booking.

 

Cancellation policy: We ask that guests cancel 30 days before their stay for a complete refund. If your reservation is canceled 7-30 days before check in, you’ll be charged 50% for all booked nights. If canceled less than 7 days before check-in, you’ll be charged 100% for all nights.

 

Guests can also receive a full refund if they cancel within 48 hours of booking, if the cancellation occurs at least 14 days before check-in.

How do I change or cancel a reservation?

To change or cancel a reservation made directly with us, please contact our concierge team concierge@lionsbackresort.com or 435.289.6400. While guests can easily make changes or cancellations through our online booking engine, we highly recommend contacting us directly as this allows us to offer the best available rate and waive any cancellation fees based on specific situations. If your reservation was made through a third party, please reach out to the booking provider directly to manage any changes or cancellations.
